ReiKi by Becky La Plante, L.A.c.
"Rei" as I was taught means the sun, wisdom, great mystery and "Ki" means Qi, Chi, or energy, sometimes called universal life force. Energy is in everything and may be dense and formed or like steam and not easily seen. Some Reiki systems call on beings of devine light and healing to aid the practitioner in the healing process.
Although, I don't talk about Reiki much to my patients, I was given the gift of attunement in 1998 at the age of 19 by Dawn Albozak, my attuner, who was very generous to trade her time and energy for what little I had to offer. I did not take the "Master" class and still have no calling to attune others, as there are plenty of people out there who offer that service. I started practicing, learning, and understanding this universal life force "Reiki" after my attunement and discovered acupuncture and then Niasziih (pronounced Nia-Z-I). Understanding energy, the meridians, the organs, and the connection of mind body and spirit is a life time art.
The Reiki practitioner uses their hands to manipulate this energy bringing it to places where it is deficient and dispersing it in places where it is excess. As I was taught, the practitioner would work as a bridge or a conduit with the Chakras and aid in bringing the body back into balance. It helps heat and blood move into the areas where people may be disconnected, or very tense, of which inturn aids the organs, muscles, and nervous system in working properly. Reiki also helps the person connect to their own spirit, joy and purpose.
Reiki is very simalar to acupressure, acupuncture with out the needles, and qi gong. It is unknown if the energy is used from the own person's energy feild and just balanced or transfered from the outside energy from nature and the earth to the client.
Reiki and healing sessions without acupuncture are $85 per session.
